Untold Reverie

Untold Reverie - Totally Should've Book Tag

I love doing #booktags on Instagram so I have decided to incorporate them to my blog as well. After much research I have decided to take over the Totally Should've #BookTag, yeah! Thanks to Emmmabooks on YouTube for creating this super fun tag. So make sure to head on over to her channel and check out the video that originated this tag.

I'll wait...

Totally Should've #BookTag

This tag is comprised of 11 questions for us to complain about things that didn't get from all of our favorite books. So, here we go!

1. Totally should've gotten a sequel

And we are starting on the wrong foot....I tend to veer towards reading series so I cannot think of a single standalone that I would have loved to have a sequel to...I know. I need to read more!

2. Totally should've had a spin off series

Everyone is going with Harry Potter. And yeah it was a great series and everything but after reading Harry Potter and The Cursed Child and being seriously let down I will have to go a completely different route*.

Throne of Glass needs a spin-off. Not about Chaol, or Lysandra, or Rowan and his Cadre...but Manon Blackbeak and the Thirteen. Not that I would love to read. Please tell me I am not alone!

* Sorry. Not sorry!

3. An author who totally should write more books

Untodl Reverie - The Night Circus

Dear Erin Morgenstern: please, please write more amazing stories!! The Night Circus left me completely in love with her writing style. And I need more! The feels! I am still speechless and out of wits. And so in love with The Night Circus. Please WRITE MORE!! -pretty please with a huge, juicy cherry on top!? Unless you do not like cherries, in that case we can accommodate to whatever you like.

4. A character who totally should've ended up with someone else

Tessa Clay Gray should have not had two great, handsome, men vying for her attention. I have no clue who she ended up with but, Tessa should have ended up SINGLE! She was so deserving of a slap to the face. Poor, little, spoiled brat who thought the world should function according to her liking. Typical “heroine” who saves the world without doing a damn thing. She was the lone reason for my hating of Clockwork Angel*. Well, Cassandra Clare did not help either. I had a few of her books, because I was lied to about how amazing her writing was...and after Tessa Gray I gave every single one of CC’s books away (I returned Lady Midnight to Costco without even reading it)

* I kid you not, Clockwork Angel has been the only book to piss me off. I threw that damn thing at the wall as soon as I forced myself to finish it. Argh!

5. Totally should've ended differently

After much thinking....and quite some time of contemplation, I cannot, for the life of me, think of a book I would have liked to have ended differently. I am sure, no doubt, that there is a book that I wish had a different ending but I am drawing a blank.

Help!

6. Totally should've had a movie franchise

Untold Reverie - Daughter of Smoke & Bone

Daughter of Smoke & Bone has such movie potential! It has great world building, character development, romance, war, betrayal. Aah, I can already picture it! Akiva and Karou. Laini Taylor, make this happen!

7. Totally should've had a TV show

Untold Reverie - The Raven Cycle

I often base my liking of a book on whether or not I can picture it as a TV show (which says something* since I do not watch TV**). I can throw a plethora of book series names at you that I would love to see on my TV like Throne of Glass***, ACOTAR, The Luncar Chronicles, etc. But being that I have to pick one...well, I would love, love, looooooove to see The Raven Cycle come to life!! I mean, Gansey, Blue, the ever-so-amazing Ronan, Noah. And let’s be honest we ALL want to hear The Murder Squash Song...yeah? Yeah!

And we also need The Lunar Chronicles...I need Iko. Iko is my spirit animal!

* What exactly? I have no clue!
** Except for Supernatural…because Dean and Cass...need I say more?
*** The series will be called Queen of Shadows and will be made by Hulu...which means that I have to buy a Hulu subscription ...argh! ACOTAR has also been optioned...so…

8. Totally should've had only one point of view

I cannot think of a single book with multiple POVs that didn’t do it for me. I keep hearing Allegiant was a good example of bad use of multiple POVs...but I didn’t make it past book 2 so I saved myself the pain to go through it.

9. Totally should have a cover change

Untold Reverie - The Covenant Series

The Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I love the series and all but those covers do not do the books any justice! I don’t think any of JLA’s books have a nice looking cover at all. The Lux series also has terrible covers.

10. Totally should've kept the original covers

Untold Reverie - The Bone Season

The Bone Season series. I am a visual person. Give me colors! I love the first editions of The Bone Season books. The simpleton white covers just don’t do it for me. I do not like the lack of color. No umph what.so.ever!

11. Totally should've stopped at book one

Divergent. For some odd reason I was OK with the first book in the series. Gave book two a try but Trish got on my nerves every time she opened her mouth, moved, or simply breathed. I am so done with the typical heroine that excels at everything without even trying/doing anything...and the whole story was terrible. Just. No.
